Magic Star Music was founded in 1983.  Through the years we've continued to expand our knowledge and customer base.  We are based in Surrey, British Columbia and generally cater to Vancouver and the Lower Mainland with service extending into the Fraser Valley.  If our customers are outside of this operational area we will happily travel wherever required to meet the needs of our customers.

• Our specialty is of course the quality of the music played at many different types of functions but weddings is truly where Magic Star Music has excelled.  We have the equipment, musical variety and skilled, hi-energy professionals to guarantee that your event will be a complete success.  Only the senior disc jockeys at Magic Star are trained to perform at weddings as they require a great deal more planning, preparation and knowledge.
• We train all of our own disc jockeys and they must meet our standards for punctuality, public speaking, appearance, dress code, music knowledge, personality, honesty and most of all, a willingness to learn. 

• At Magic Star Music, the content of the music we play is as important to us as the sound quality or the attention to detail that we are famous for.  When you book your dance with Magic Star you can be assured that we carefully monitor the music that we play to ensure that key words that many people find offensive are not played.  We will not promote artists whose content of music includes:  hate, racism, violence, swearing or abuse.

The music we play is a reflection on ourselves and we believe in the motto:  keep it clean, keep it fun.  These guidelines are severely enforced at any of the youth oriented functions where "edited" or "clean" versions of songs are often required.

• As Magic Star Music continues to grow we inherit the ideas and skills of the new people that become a part of the Magic Star family.  New ideas are welcomed and followed up on.  This is one of the characteristics that places us on top.  The only bad idea anyone ever had was the one that was never told.  We currently have up to 18 skilled, trained DJ's on staff at any given time and of those DJ's many have operated their own mobile music companies and know some of the challenges faced by our customers and support staff.

With the enormous quantity of DJ gear, karaoke equipment and lighting components at our fingertips we have been able to provide rental equipment to other DJ companies, private companies or individuals with anything they require to meet there entertainment needs.  If it means that we must go out and find a special piece of equipment for you this is what we'll do.  We go the extra mile for our customers and that is why they keep coming back.
